Simply scrumptious! The Cordon bleu is a famous dish in France; maybe one of the favorites among children but generally everyone loves it! ‘Cordon Bleu’ actually means ‘blue ribbon’, which refers to the award given to cooks as a result of culinary excellence!
Recipes can vary from ham; veal, chicken, turkey and you can adapt the cheese to your liking as well. After you feel confortable with the basic cordon bleu, why don't you change this recipe to your own personal creation?
And guess what: it’s incredibly easy to prepare and to cook. Are you ready to try?

You will need for 4 people:

_4 turkey escalopes
_2 slices of cheese (Swiss cheese, Emmental, gruyere…)
_1 slice of ham
_2 tbsp. of flour
_2 beaten eggs
_4 tbsp. breadcrumbs (chapelure)
_1 pinch of paprika
_10g of melted butter

It will take you 15 minutes for preparation, 10 minutes for cooking and a whole day of enjoyment!

1

Wrap the 4 escalopes and wrap them around some cling film.  Use your pastry roller to flatten them, or use the back of a saucepan to slap them (traditional French way?).

2

Sprinkle with salt and pepper each side of the 4 pieces, and garnish them with respectively 1 slice of cheese, 1 slice of ham, and another slice of cheese. Fold into two and press firmly on the edges.

3

Roll these into 2 tbsp. of flour and and dip them into 4 tbsp. of breadcrumbs. Sprinkle with 1 pinch of Paprika.

4

Heat butter in a pan and cook the cordon bleu until they are golden, it should take around 5 minutes on each side.

Serve with a salad, or potato mash, green peas and you can’t go wrong!
It's ready, and it's wonderful! Bon Appétit!
